1) Living Room.

2) MBR.

4) MBR Toilet with down light on.

5) MBR Toilet with all lights turn on.

6) Princess Room.

7) My working/study room.

Lightings & ceiling fans.

1) MBR with 3 x 2ft T5 LED and 4 x 5watts LED downlights.

2) Living Room with 9 x 4ft T5 LED. 6 x LED downlights.

3) Overview of the living room.

Aircon up!

Went today morning to take a look @ Jeffrey installation of aircon.

1) MBR

2) Bedroom 3 aka Study room

3) Future princess room. Bedroom 2.

4) Closer look @ MBR aircon.

Total cost. $2950 with upgraded insulation 1/2 inch armaflex class 1 & SWG 22 gauge copper pipe, 2 x trips (1st trip, install piping, 2nd mount aircon.) Installed by my primary school friend's friend Jeffrey from You Li Air Conditioning Services & Repair.

Model is 3 x CS-C9PKZW indoor unit. 1 x CU-3S27MKZ.

You might wonder, why pick Panasonic? Why not Mitsubishi Electric or Daikin.

Maybe i would explained a little more.

1) Panasonic aircon has been improving on its technology. If you have read up more, they have sunlight, human movement detector and others. read up more here.

http://www.panasonic.asia/ecoideas/ecoproducts/econavi_air_conditioner.html

2) Mitsubishi Electric aircon is a no frills aircon. Press on button, beep beep. there you go, AIRCON. nothing else. Its cheap and good. But i want more.

3) Daikin is way too expensive. Although my current house is Daikin aircon, but they are getting more and more expensive on their inverter. which is close to $3.6k or even $4k i heard.

4) I'm a Panasonic fan. =X

Internet

Was deciding between Singnet & MyRepublic. Was too upset with Starhub internet. Upgrading my current house internet from Singnet ADSL to Starhub Fibre was probably the worst decision ever made.

1) Poor customer service & technical support. Was complaining about the slow speed, and CSO ask me to do speedtest. Joke of the month. This is not the way to TEST your speed. -.-

2) Erratic internet speed. I can literally wait 2minutes for a local webpage to load. Seriously? this has never happen when i was on Singnet ADSL 10Mbps.

3) No internet in the morning sometimes. Even restarting router and ONT doesn't work. When back home in the evening. Everything back to normal. WTH?

So was comparing both prices on Singnet & MyRepublic.

Singnet 150mbps - $50 with home line, mobile broadband & 10% discount on mobile line with some-lousy-router. International speed cap @ 15mbps.

MR 100Mbps - $38.88 with ASUS RT-N56U ($80 top up). No International speed cap.

Was thinking, since i'm sick of the big 3. Singnet, M1, Starhub, might as well try MR. at least their CSO is singaporean, they are active in HWZ NGN forum. They got fantastic offers on their value-added-service. Which i might consider signing them up after that.

Singnet? bunch of useless VAS. I don't need home line, mobile broadband and i don't need their puny 10% discount while i'm already on CIS plan which have 20% discount + free Caller ID & autoroam. I save alot more!

A reminder.

This post is to remind myself and maybe to other residents staying in high floor.

When heading out, always close windows. If short while, leave abit of gap.

As yesterday was raining so heavily, We were still happily chatting with Reine, Alexius & aunty Angie, forgotten that we never close the windows, i hurried up and to my horror, rains start pouring in, making all my BR and living room flooded.

Have to take some time to dried up the whole entire place. Luckily i'm still at block. if not, i can prepare to swim in my house. =\

Lighting & Painting works.

1) Track light along the corridor. This is just to "pai sui" nia, won't be turning on that much, but maybe we will put some pictures on the wall and use the LED spotlight to shine on it.

2) Bedroom LED lights.

3) MBR Toilet lighting. A little too bright for my liking.

4) Extremely bright bomb shelter. Abit regret getting LED for this. This one just use those halogen tubes can liao.

5) Colour of the rooms.

False Ceiling & Tiling.

Its been sometime i updated my blog.

Was so pressured with all the renovation going on and Gavin informing me last minute this and that which i pretty frustrated with his planning. With so little time left during the weekdays after work. I can either take leave or deal all this renovation shit on weekends, leaving with no time for myself.

Since my little princess is coming out in July, i cannot waste my leave for all these and i hoping Gavin can complete everything by late May. If not, first week of June.

Alright, i will let some pictures do the talking then.

1) MBR Toilet Shower Kerb. Couple of reasons why i do shower kerb only.

  • Toilet too bloody small
  • Placing a shower screen makes the toilet even smaller.
  • Sliding/swing door also make the whole toilet cluttered and squeezy.
  • Many ppl opt for bi-fold door to reduce the footprint when opening the door. But we purchase the doors from HDB. Why waste?!
  • No water gets out of the kerb. *hopefully*
  • Installing of rain shower, so i need the door to swing max of 90deg and not more than 100deg to prevent hitting the head.
  • Poor design of MBR toilet. Shower point of the right which i felt on the left will be better.
  • Last but not least, i don't need to clean the shower screen every week. I just need to wash the floor. =X

2) Box up for wardrobe BR2, MBR & Kitchen. As we are staying the highest, in order the cut down on renovation cost. we didn't do full height wardrobe/cabinet, so we end up like this below.

3) Next, covering up the trunkings.

4) Kitchen base, was very angry when i saw this. Gavin so calculative meh? Such a small gap not willing to do all the way? Call him and ask him why there is gap. He mentioned that your cabinet door need to have allowance in order to swing out.

After hearing that was quite okie. But i told him, if i look below, can i see a hole or not? coz i don't want bugs to go inside or i need to use cotton buds to clean that small tiny little hole. So when he told me his guys do wrong, i go okie. if wrong, act on it.

Next day he told me the gap will be covering up.

Whatever it is, i hope the kitchen will look ok when i go for spotcheck tomorrow.

5) Washing Machine Base. The base was very well done for my expectation. But looking at the measurement, seems that i'm going to face some problem in terms of having a base of 600mm washing machine. Which my Panasonic front load gonna be protruding out. Haiz. I guess no choice la. Live with it, if not, i need to shift my water point & my 13a switch, which gonna cost money AGAIN! -.-

6) Last look at the kitchen. The wiring will be using LED lighting under the top cabinet. So that it will shine down if let say i don't want to turn on kitchen light.

Lack of update

Hi All,

My apologies for the delay. Been really tight up with work. Will update either tomorrow or weekends.

Lighting.

Since LED is cheap @ JB. i have decided to do my house all LED (except dining area) instead of the typical halogen/fluorescent  lights.

Sounds crazy? Maybe. As i don't like those funny bugs flying around my lights due to the UV rays being transmitted out by those bulbs and i hate the feeling of replacing the bulbs again and again every 1-2yrs.

Many of friends do tell me that the cost of using bulbs and fluorescent are cheap but i just hate the feeling of taking out the cover and clean those bugs out.

Since the price difference is not that huge. I took the LED path instead.

Cost of 4inch LED (for living room) ranging from RM$36 to RM90 bucks. was comparing the difference and end up took the plunge, bought the expensive and lasting one @ YES Electrical Supply @ Jalan Serampang. which cost me SGD$35 after converting. Its a pity Best Light Electrical didn't have stocks as they are selling cheaper than YES but i needed the lighting fast so ended up purchasing there.

I don't know how much i spent for lighting in Singapore & JB. But total cost didn't exceed more than SGD$800. Things i bought.

1) Living room - 6 x 4inch warm light Blco brand LED
2) 6 x 3 watts warm LED track light with 2 x 1m track light holder
3) MBR - 4 x 5watts warm LED lights
4) BR 2 & 3 - 14watts warm LED
5) MBR Toilet & Common Toilet - 9watts warm & white
6) Kitchen - 18watts LED
7) Service Yard - 3FT LED White (wattage no idea)
7) Storeroom - 15watt LED White

Will post up some photos tomorrow as i'm heading down tmr.
